G1 Watch for 5 & 6 August, 2019
A G1 (Minor) geomagnetic watch remains in effect for 5 and 6 August, 2019 due to coronal hole high speed stream (CH HSS) influences. A co-rotating interaction region (CIR) arrived ahead of the CH HSSÂ early on the 5 Aug UTC-day and increased total interplanetary magnetic field (IMF) strength. Elevated IMF strength, coupled with a periods of a southward directed Bz component; and solar wind speed increases to over 600 km/s, are expected to continue resulting in occasional periods of overall planetary geomagnetic responses to G1 levels. Therefore, the G1 Warning has been extended until 05/2359 UTC.
