published: Thursday, July 18, 2024 19:43 UTC

A G1 (Minor) geomagnetic storm watch is in place for the 21 July UTC-day (beginning Saturday evening - Eastern Time). The G1 Watch has been posted due to the potential arrival at Earth of a pair of weak coronal mass ejections (CMEs). Should the CMEs arrive as anticipated, G1 levels are likely. SWPC watches, warnings, and alerts are based on Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) - a time standard used globally and for convenience without regard to time zones. Continue to monitor our SWPC webpage for the latest information and updates.
