The Sun Remains Active Despite Low Solar Activity Levels
published: Friday, October 27, 2023 13:25 UTC

A lack of complex active regions facing Earth makes for a low solar activity forecast 25-27 October, 2023. Despite the recent lower sunspot numbers and lack of significant flare related events, the Sun continues to be active. Each day since 22 October, large prominence eruptions occurred from beyond the solar limb. These eruptions were associated with CMEs - all determined to be aimed away from Earth. There are several filaments on the visible solar disk that SWPC forecasters are monitoring for potential eruptions. Continue to visit our webpage for the latest information and forecasts.
